Day Two Camino Del Norte
Who Can Imagine Better Weather?
I heard del Norte was harder and it is true; it makes the Portuguese look like a cake-walk and the Frances easier.
80F of sun up never-ending steep inclines and grueling downhills on sharp rocks and mud for 17.5 miles mostly in flip-flops. Wow. It took me 9 hours!
Out of 15 people leaving my albergue this morning, only 3 of us came this far and we are beat! Happy, but tired with high-fives all around for surviving the day.
The walk was stunningly gorgeous, showcasing the northern coast of vineyards, pastures, mountains and sea.
The closest restaurant got my business and I scarfed down a meal as if I hadn’t seen food in a week; pretty sure I was the unattractive American Pilgrim eating.
It will be an early night in a Donativo bunkbed. “Camino Provides” stories are awesome! (2 already today!)
Buen Camino!
