Day Six Mount Kilimanjaro
A Climber Died Today
Today was a Base Camp trek and upon arrival I witnessed a recently-deceased climber being taken off the mountain in a stretcher…sad.
It is very cold at this elevation with moody and unpredictable weather on Kilimanjaro. Thank goodness I rented an extra jacket for the summit in the last refueling!
When you’re supposed to sleep at 6:30pm because you’re going to wake up and begin the summit climb at midnight… well, it’s good in theory, but I found myself way too excited and a little bit nervous!
Everything has led up to this point… it is time to climb to the top!
