Temples of Bagan And Village Tour
Say “Yes!” To Unexpected Adventures
What an adventure! I traveled solo to Myanmar, (Burma) on a whim, and one city I was especially fascinated to visit was Bagan, a.k.a. Land of a Thousand Temples. Whoa!
On my third day in Bagan, while out exploring temples on my scooter, a 13-year-old Burmese girl approached me (Ywin Ywin) and in great English asked me, “Would you like to tour my village?”
I said, “Yes!”
Over the course of several hours I spent fascination exploration into what village life is like in Bagan, Mayamar.
The people of Burma are very friendly and welcoming. It is one of the poorest third world countries I’ve ever visited and conditions are still quite harsh. Most dogs/cats I witnessed were starving, and there was a certain ‘day-to-day’ existence I picked up on.
Ywin Ywin got a nice tip from me for being my immersion guide into her culture and I was quite impressed with her.
An overwhelming notion of deep gratitude for how I get to live my life swept over me, as I witnessed such a modest and simple way of existence there.
I loved the smiles, color, history and sites in Myanmar. Before their temples are completely destroyed by tourism or earthquakes, I highly recommend visiting Bagan, Mayanmar.
