Day One Camino de Santiago
Idyllic Day One!
Hola Amigos! Yes I’m back in Spain walking my 8th pilgrimage on the Camino de Santiago.
Albeit unconditioned from Wisconsin snow, I’m taking one day at a time here and grateful for the experience.
Day one began with a leisurely breakfast at my pilgrim friend, Olivier’s place in the most charming village of Larrasona.
My walk to Pamplona was idyllic in every way—spring in this part of Spain is absolutely glorious.
I’ve got a few logistical things to figure out with the case of missing underwear, and my new flip flops not making it to my home in time to take with me. Spain mail won’t receive either here from USA and I’ll be “MacGyver’ing” both situations.
Enjoy some beautiful scenes from the wonderful city of Pamplona. I had the opportunity to catch up with one of my pilgrim friends who lives there.
According to my pace counter app, I completed 14.6 miles on my first full day.
The body was a little shocked when I began walking with a backpack, weight over 20lb. It groaned a little… “oh we are doing this again!” Ultimately I feel pretty good.
Thank you for coming with me on this journey and stay tuned for more videos, photos and livestreams.
Buen Camino!
Total Distance: 14.6 miles
