Florida Adventures Fall 2022
I Love The Sunshine State!
Florida is a beautiful state. I’ve yet to explore its many swamps, and I’ve spent quality time on several of its gorgeous beaches.
It’s been 6 weeks since I first came back to Florida, during the warm welcome of Hurricane Ian, my first hurricane! Barely landing in Tampa on the last flight before they closed down the airport, I hunkered down with friends to ride out the storm together. That, in itself, was an adventure, as we had 7 cats, 2 dogs and 5 adults in a tiny house.
Hurricane Nicole followed behind Ian, and one thing I’ve learned about Floridians is that they are tough people who know exactly how to prepare for extreme weather.
It’s been a blast to meet friends, make new ones, and spend tranquil mornings or evenings on Florida’s pristine beaches. The sand is fluffy and white, and the bay feels like bath water.
Living in the south has opened an entire new arena of epicurean delights; I wasted no time stuffing my face with scrumptious, fresh seafood and local fare.
One of my favorite highlights is SUP (Stand-Up Paddleboarding) on the river with wonderful wildlife, including alligators and manatees.
